Football is a breathtaking spectacle that has brought joy and excitement to millions of people all over the world. The sport has seen some truly remarkable players grace the pitch over the years & it is frequently a topic of debate among fans to try & determine the all time greatest 11 in football.
In this blog post, I will share my personal list of all time greatest 11 in football. My preferred formation will be a 4-3-3 & the manager for this dream team will be none other than the tactical genius, Pep Guardiola.
Goalkeeper
Let us begin with the goalkeeper. Lev Yashin, also known as the “Black Spider” is in my opinion, the greatest goalkeeper of all time & surely deserves to be in the list.
Yashin is widely considered to be the first truly modern goalkeeper & his quick reflexes, agility & commanding presence between the posts made him a formidable opponent for any attacker. He was also known for his ability to dominate his area and easily claim crosses as well as his incredible saves.
So, Lev Yashin will don the goalkeeping post for my dream team!
Left Back
I have chosen Roberto Carlos to play left back in my dream team. The Brazilian full-back was known for his incredible speed, technical ability & ferocious left foot which he used to deliver thunderous long-range shots and pinpoint crosses.
His overlapping runs and attacking ability made him a valuable asset to any team & he played an important role for both Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team.
Right Back
I have chosen Dani Alves for the other flank. One of the best full-backs of his period, the Brazilian right-back was renowned for his never-ending enthusiasm and hunger to attack. He was poised at attacking & defending. He was renowned for his amazing crossing skills as well as his ability to dish to teammates with pinpoint accuracy.
He would be a perfect fit for this team as it will be managed by his favourite coach, Pep Guardiola. As a result, two explosive Brazilian full backs will create attack & defend the flanks for my dream team.
Centre Backs
I have placed the legendary Italian center-back Paolo Maldini in the heart of the defence. Maldini was known for his incredible game reading and ability to predict the opposition’s next move which allowed him to be a master at intercepting passes and making crucial tackles. In defence, he was a strong and composed presence & his leadership and experience made him a valuable captain for both Milan and Italy.
German Legend, Franz Beckenbauer will be joining Maldini in the centre of defence. Beckenbauer was one of the greatest defenders of all time & his ability to play both as a center-back & as a sweeper made him a versatile and valuable player. He was known for his calmness & composure on the ball as well as his ability to start attacks from the back with accurate passing.
Central Midfield
In the centre of midfield, I have selected two of Spain’s greatest players of all time: Andres Iniesta and Xavi.
Iniesta’s incredible technique, vision & ability to pick out the perfect pass, creativity & flair made him one of the greatest midfielders ever. Iniesta’s style of play & elegance made him a key figure for both Spain & FC Barcelona.
Xavi, on the other hand was known for his incredible passing range & ability to dictate game tempo through his metronomic passing. Iniesta and Xavi formed one of the greatest midfield pairings in history under Pep Guardiola. So, no doubt they will do wonders for my dream team too under the same manager!
Attacking Midfield
In the attacking midfield position, I have selected the Argentine maestro, Diego Maradona. Maradona was one of the greatest players of all time & his incredible dribbling skills, vision & finishing ability made him a nightmare for defenders. His creativity, flair & ability to score incredible goals made him a joy to watch.
He will be the team’s main attack creator, a true No.10. He would undoubtedly work his magic on the field under the guidance of a capable manager like Pep, who can bring out the best of anybody.
Left Wing

On the left wing, of course, I have chosen Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar is one of the greatest players of all time, and his incredible speed, striking ability and clinical finishing have made him a goal-scoring machine.
His ability to score from both inside & outside the box makes him a threat from any position & his impressive work ethic and determination make him a valuable asset to any team.
Right Wing
On the opposite flank, I have selected the Argentine G.O.A.T., Lionel Messi. Messi is no-doubt the greatest player of all time & his out of the world dribbling skills, vision & finishing ability make him a nightmare for defenders.
His ability to score incredible goals & create chances for his teammates makes him a player that every manager wants in his team & his consistency and longevity make him a true legend of the game.
Hence, the two greatest players of all time, The G.O.A.T.’s of football: Cristiano Ronaldo & Lionel Messi will dominate the wings for my dream team.
Striker
Finally, I have decided to start with the Brazilian legend Pele. Pele is widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time and his incredible goal scoring record, technical ability & flair make him a true game icon.
His ability to score spectacular goals and create chances for his teammates made him one of the greatest strikers in football history. His impact on the beautiful game can still be felt today.
Thus, the attacking trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi & Pele will lead my dream team’s attack!
So, there you have it, my all-time greatest 11 in football. This dream team is a formidable force combining some of the greatest players of all time to create a team that would be almost unbeatable on the pitch. With the tactical genius of Pep Guardiola at the helm, this team would be a force to be reckoned with.
